About the presenter
Ippei Okazaki is a multi-award-winning trauma-informed mediator renowned for his transformative approach to community conflict resolution across the Tiwi Islands, Barkly Region, Far North Queensland, Central Australia, and the APY lands. Combining extensive on-country experience with a background in Native Title, resolving multi-generational family feuds, facilitating restorative practices involving serious, violent offenders and facilitating restorative conferences for survivors of institutional abuse and Stolen Generations seeking direct personal response and apology. He is a thought leader in the areas of trauma and led recovery programs to regional communities across South Australia following the Black SUmmer Bushfires 2019-20 and the River Murray Floods 2022-23. Ippei employs a compassionate and approachable methodology that prioritises the safety of all parties involved. His work bridges divides and promotes healing and is passionate about fostering peace.
