This training builds the capacity of professionals and organisations to work and engage more effectively with dads in their local community.
Participants will learn to facilitate DadStuff, our interactive, evidence-based workshop for dads and father-figures. DadStuff supports dads to learn about fatherhood, options for being a dad, healthy family relationships and connecting with other dads. The session content also includes resources, strategies and information developed by the Support for Fathers project.
Support for Fathers is Relationships Australia Victoria’s national project providing dads and father-figures with options and information about fatherhood. We also enable workplaces and organisations to more effectively engage and work with dads and families, and support them through fatherhood. Visit www.supportforfathers.com.au to learn more.
By the end of this facilitator workshop, participants will be able to:
· articulate the 7 different ways to be a dad
· demonstrate an understanding of what makes dads important in families and communities
· effectively promote and tailor services to dads
· support dads to create positive family relationships
· share ways that dads can maintain work and family balance
· articulate the type of messaging that motivates dads
· demonstrate an understanding of the issues impacting dads and families who work from home
· use skills and strategies to deliver a program for dads and father-figures.
