The Support for Fathers project is a national project providing dads and father figures with options and information about fatherhood, the relationship with their partner, and connecting with their kids. We enable workplaces and organisations to engage and work with dads and families more effectively and support them through fatherhood.
In this self-paced, online course, we will explore the research, resources and toolkits the Support for Fathers project has developed as well as plenty of other work being done in Australia and around the world.
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
articulate the 7 different ways to be a dad
demonstrate an understanding of what makes dads important in families and communities
promote and tailor services to dads effectively
support dads to create positive family relationships
articulate how to create work and family balance for dads
use skills and strategies to create a dad-focused service
articulate the type of messaging that motivates dads
demonstrate an understanding of the issues related to dads and families working from home
formulate a plan for future work with dads
use skills and strategies to create a dad-focused professionals network.
